Authenticated reads return merchant originals unchanged. Returns private proof metadata and original file in dataBase64 only to the owning customer. The base64 field is a small blurred JPEG preview (empty for PDF); it is distinct from dataBase64. Reads remain available after settlement; missing proof returns 404. Storage unavailability can return 502 or 503 UPSTREAM_ERROR.
